Has anyone given any thought to what it would take to make the dreams of many WSU fans dreams to come true? Would ESPN ever consider such a crazy idea? I'm trying to take the season one week, one game at a time, as I hope they players do. Would a 5 -0 start and (currently #6) Stanford be enough? Have we bought enough good will from ESPN by waving Old Crimson every week? In the back of my head I think I remember back in 2001, there was a rumor that WSU was being considered, but the week before Oregon lost and we were no longer a consideration. That may just be wishful thinking on my part.
A quick look at the schedule leaves us @ San Diego State, then a bye, @ Colorado, and then @ UCLA before the Stanford game in Pullman for Homecoming. That Saturday the games that I think will be considered are #2 Bama @ Ole Miss, #3 LSU @ Tenn, #8 Oklahoma State @ #23 Texas, #10 South Carolina @ #25 Ole Miss, #22 @ #12 Oregon, #16 Florida @ #21 Auburn, Georgia @ Vanderbilt, and #4 Boise State @ Colorado State. Of course these ranking will change. Maybe WSU will have a number in front id it's name sometime this season.
Another chance Pullman might have would be the November 12 game against Arizona State. I'm not trying to make a prediction about anything. I'm just trying to have some fun picturing the possibilities for this season. Your thoughts Cougar Nation?
