Looks like we're gonna be stacked for WRs!

But I’m still a bit nervous about how our current linemen (and recruits) are gonna fair in Leach’s 3ft split, one on one pass blocking strategy. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I can’t wait for spring ball!

I think we'll be fine in the pass blocking department.

For starters that is about all we will be working on anymore, good bye running game!. Secondly pass blocking isn’t really a one on one thing, by that I mean it isn’t like a man run blocking scheme where you have the end and he has the tackle. Pass blocking is more like blocking anyone who comes into your area, to guard against stunts and blitzes by the defense. Generally it’s alright for tackles to give up more ground and try to keep their man outside, while interior lineman need to limit push. I believe Leach uses wide splits to create a wider pocket for his quarterback and to try and get defensive ends out of the throwing lanes.

Defenses tend to wear down

One of the things I recall in watching TT is into the second half of games, defenses tend to wear down as they are having to pass rush on most every play and the line splits are such that they have to cover more ground to get to the QB. I think part of the magic of CML’s offense is that he was able to rotate 8-10 receivers at oposing defenses and basically run them into the ground by throwing the ball 40 to 60 times a game. With the receivers currently on the roster and the recruiting class shaping up the way it is, it looks like he may have the athletes to implement his offense immediately.

Who does Robert Lewis remind you of?

I watched some of his videos on YouTube, and although they are built similar (this kid looks to possibly be a better athlete) he reminds me of Brandon Gibson. Maybe Deron Pointer.
I have this image in my head of the Cougs lined up, M. Wilson wide left this guy In the slot, G.Marks right and Rickey Galvin in the backfield. pick you poison baby, the Cougs are going to be one hell of a show, can’t wait. Go Cougs

Lewis v. Gibson: Tale of the Tape

Lewis: 5-10/160
Gibson: 6-0/210

Lewis will gain pounds, but you can’t strength coach height

Maybe Michael Bumpus is a better comp …

I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. Ugh

Position

We are listing this guy as a WR but in high school he played RB and corner, it sounds like he played both ways. Looks like he has soft hands and can create with the ball but does anyone know if we recruited him as a athlete or a position player? Did you see the list of schools this guy had to choose from (Oregon, Ohio state…) Looking forward to seeing Mike Leach at the BB game against Stanford tonight, he is suppose to show up.

He's a WR.

I’d say like 80% of HS kids play both ways.

I thought I read that...

Leach was showing up for Saturday’s game against Cal? Saturday day games have more people, especially alumni, so it makes sense.
