Bud just made a golf analogy

Something about a 1 club breeze. I have no idea what that means.

by jackswift on Jan 28, 2012 2:16 PM PST reply actions

When the wind is blowing hard enough

either in your face or at your back you have to use a club that hits further or shorter to counter the wind. So a “1 club breeze” in my face would make me hit a 5-iron instead of a 6-iron since it is designed to hit further.

You're exactly right.

UCLA fans are delusional…in all sports, but particularly basketball. UCLA fans think that they shouldn’t have such a thing as a down year. They think they should be in the Sweet 16 at least, annually. Between a couple of disappointing years in a row and the defections, I wouldn’t be surprised if Howland is looking for a new job come March.

This team

is almost unbearable to watch. Stupid mistakes, can’t play defense, and losses to Utah and now ASU. Gross

You know, once I was thinking about quitting when I was diagnosed with brain, lung and testicular cancer, all at the same time. But with the love and support of my friends and family, I got back on the bike and I won the Tour de France five times in a row. But I'm sure you have a good reason to quit. So what are you dying from that's keeping you from the finals? - Lance Armstrong

You don't get to shoot FTs if it's an offensive foul

they didn't have the ball...

you don’t shoot on offensive fouls, but they do count towards your teams total.

by newportcoug on Jan 28, 2012 3:54 PM PST up reply actions

Yeah it would help if I was paying attention.

I heard hook foul and assumed Capers fouled a guy who rebounded the ball. Didn’t realize it was offensive.

Um, wanna talk about that?

I am not blaming this weekend just on being the road team

They just lacked effort, passion and fire in both games. To many DUMB, DUMB, DUMB mistakes. Motum is the only one who seemed to get on the plane back in Pullman.

by spokanecougar on Jan 28, 2012 3:54 PM PST reply actions

In that case

it’s impressive that Motum held ASU to 63 points and scored 57.
Post presence indeed.

that's exactly what young immature teams do on the road

the question is WTF do we play like a young immature team?

Oh man

They just called a hook on Capers and ASU gets away with the exact same thing.

Obviously we are losing because we are playing badly.

But as someone who believes basketball is a contact sport, I have really disliked the officiating this half.

Wowsers

Giving up 70 points on 50%+ shooting is downright shameful. Yikes.

I really hope our incoming class

is a lot better talent wise than the seniors they’ll be replacing…which in all honesty shouldn’t be too hard.
