Questions for Washington State Commits Khalil Pettway, Alex Jackson, and Gabriel Marks
I'm a high school sports reporter covering Washington State commits WR Alex Jackson, WR Gabriel Marks, and LB Khalil Pettway signing day ceremonies tomorrow afternoon. I will be interviewing them after they sign their letters of intent and would like to know if any of the Cougar faithful had any specific questions they wanted asked. Culver City's ceremony (Jackson and Pettway) is at 12:30 p.m. and Marks will be signing at his later in the day.
You can email me the question at Ed [at] SportsJournalLA [dot] com or leave a comment on this post and I'll check in the morning before I go to the events.
Thanks,
Ed Gonzalez

Be sure and link your final article back here if you would.
1) I’d like to know what made them choose WSU over other offers (Leach’s system, the recruiting trip, in home visit)?
2) Is coming from an urban setting to a rural one a benefit or detraction (but obviously not a big enough one for them choose a different school)?
2) Actually it is a college town with rolling hills surrounding it.

Not a problem
Will do and both are really good questions. The rural vs urban setting is something that I thought hurt WSU. Think that Leach getting hired around the same time that SMU’s Adrian Klemm left for UCLA really helped you guys though. Suddenly there was a school that plays a similar style closer to home with a chance to play in SoCal a couple of times.
I’m going to try and shoot some video too, so hopefully we can get all this on camera .
Keep those questions coming.

Can you ask the players
what they feel the expectations should be next year… im thinking 6 wins but they will know better. They’ve talked to the mad man himself ;)
There is something about being a cougar.
I would be intersted in
1. What specific place/area/thing that stood out to them on their visit to Pullman?
2. What are their academic interests?
3. What kind of knowledge they have of Washington State Athletics (Past players, the college gameday flag tradition, ect.)
No sir,
We are tickled crimson.

My ?'s;
1) What was the tipping point in the recruiting process?
2)How do they view social media and its role in recruiting? (aka, has it impacted your decision)
Which of the coaches were your 'contact'
and decribe how you felt about each.
What were your individual gut reactions to Pullman and the Palouse Country when you finally got up there and saw the campus?
If you can't Go Cougs... don't go.
A couple personal questions would be cool.
If you could be any animal, other than a cougar obviously, what would you be and why?
What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
Sure you would get some fun answers out of these.
Thanks for the efforts, Ed.
Would love to read your write-up of the interview when you get it
Video of the Interviews
Here is the link to the video of Pettiway and Jackson interview and Culver City head coach Jahmal Wright talking about the special relationship his school has with Wazzu. All I ask to that you watch the entire video before the interview starts. It’s one of the ways I make money in order to provide this kind of content. Thanks.
Culver City’s Khalil Pettiway and Alex Jackson on Why They Picked Washington State
Didn’t get a chance to talk to Gabriel Marks on Wednesday since he signed his LOI at the same time as another high school with 5 player moving on. Should have that one sometime next week. If you got any specific questions for him, just leave a comment and I’ll try to ask it.
