2012 Apple Cup score update: WSU leads 10-7 at halftime

The Washington State Cougars lead the Washington Huskies 10-7 at halftime of the 2012 Apple Cup.

While the Cougars lead, the 10-7 advantage doesn't demonstrate how much WSU dominated the first half. Outside of a touchdown drive on a short field following an interception, the Washington offense hasn't been able to get anything going against an energized Cougar defense.

While the Huskies have punted four times, the Cougars have gone on two long scoring drives. WSU got on the board first with a field goal following a 14 play 78-yard drive. After Washington took a 7-3 lead following the turnover, WSU answered with a 10 play 81-yard touchdown drive. The drive was capped with a 1-yard touchdown run by Carl Winston.

The Cougars outgained Washington 183-96 in the first half. Jeff Tuel completed 16 of 26 passes for 172 yards. Dominique Williams continues to play well and has already caught five passes for 99 yards.

Washington State will receive the second half kickoff with a chance to extend their lead.
