After taking the lead back just moments before, the Washington Huskies extended their advantage and now lead the 2012 Apple Cup 21-10.
The touchdown was setup by Washington State's second turnover of the game. Jeff Tuel was sacked by Josh Shirley on a 3rd-and-9 and fumbled. The Huskies recovered the fumble, setting up the Washington offense at the WSU 16-yardline.
After a slow start to the drive, Keith Price scrambled for 12 yards on a 3rd-and-11 to pick up the first down. After a WSU penalty, Bishop Sankey ran untouched into the endzone for the 2-yard touchdown. With the touchdown, Washington has now scored 14 points off WSU turnovers. Both touchdown drives were 20 yards or less.
The 11-point lead is the largest of the game for either team. After struggling in the first half, the Washington offense has now scored 14 quick points in the third quarter. To make matters worse, Tuel was intercepted on WSU's next possession.
