The Washington Huskies have now scored 21 unsanswered points and lead the 2012 Apple Cup 28-10.
Yet again, the Huskies offense was put in prime position thanks to a Cougar turnover. Bobby Ratliff fumbled after a 7-yard reception, which was recovered by Washington safety Shaq Thompson. Thompson returned the fumble to the Washington State 7-yardline. The Huskies wasted little time, punching it in for the touchdown three plays later.
Bishop Sankey gained all seven yards on the drive, scoring a 1-yard touchdown, his second touchdown of the game. This was Washington's third scoring drive of 20 yards or less. All three were setup by Washington State turnovers. The Cougars have now turned the ball over four times in the game.
Washington dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Cougars 21-0. While Sankey hasn't gained big chunks of yardage, he has picked up 73 yards and scored twice. The Huskies now have 212 offensive yards.
