Leach & ESPN
We all know about Leach and his ongoing suit against ESPN, so I was thinking today I wonder if that will hurt WSU in its recruiting as well as on the national stage. The new Pac12 TV deal is with ESPN and Fox so WSU will be involved a lot with ESPN. Will our highlights be shown as much as other schools? If we are winning games and end up having a big game against a ranked opponent will this sway ESPN and College GameDay? Will we see less exposure that will hurt us with getting recruits to Pullman? Do you think ESPN will be professional and do their job? Will they cover WSU, but not talk about Leach? I was actually surprised they let Scott Van Pelt have Leach on his radio show. I noticed when Leach started going a certain direction SVP moved on quickly and ended the interview. I think ESPN will try and be professional and cover things in a normal way, but I think if they have to cover WSU they will keep Leach out of the limelight.
Let me know if you think I need to add another option to the poll. CougCenter loves polls!

It's not in ESPN's interest to hide Leach.
He’s a big name in the coaching world and it benefits them to use whatever they can to hype their games — especially if WSU does well.
It’s not like there’s some troll in Connecticut (other that Craig #rememberthefive James) plotting against Leach. Obviously they will want to avoid news of their malfeasance, but at the same time, winning heals all wounds.

Bottom line is that ESPN wants money
And Leach is too popular of a story. He is charismatic, interesting, intelligent, unique… and most importantly? He wins big with “underdog” schools. The news story practically writes itself.
Honestly, I think we give way too much credit with the amount of clout that James has. You really think that the giant media network will risk losing money to protect someone who amounts to not much more than a journalist? Particularly when that journalist a) brings bad attention to your company and b) does it for selfish reasons?

Plus he doesn't even work there anymore.

And is probably privately happy he's not associated with ESPN anymore
I can almost see the headlines if or when Leach wins the lawsuit. EX ESPN journalist convicted of liable, slander and contract tampering.
