Did Aaron Dunn really commit two years before he would play?
Is that some kind of record or have we done this in the past?
Well Bucannon was just the first one that stuck.
Dalen Jones committed in March.

I actually think Bishop Sankey committed in December of his Jr. year, too. /shakes fist

ok
do you guys just keep all of this information locked up in a fancy organized excel sheet on your desktop and find this stuff out? Is most of it from memory?
Also, side note question… so I figured that most of Wulff’s assistant coaches found new jobs, but I see one of the guys at the gym everyday. So one day, I asked him (thinking he might have a job) where’s he heading to now and he answered “no where, yet”… It was awkward and I didn’t want to ask his name and was wondering for some help… Maybe my google kung fu is weak at the moment, but I couldn’t even find a list of the former staff online… help?
No it's just from memory
the Dalen Jones thing was really recent so it stood out.

this guy was on the phone every morning at the gym
for the two hours I was there, he would be either on the bikes near “treadmill row” or walking on the track…

Not sure what happened between 09 and 10.
He was getting great coverage out of the 09 unit.

According to that fanshot by winorlosewestillbooze
we already have a JC commit for 2013 in a runningback by the name of Don Jackson. Yet due to several factors (coaching change, grades, etc.) it appears he would be a very long shot to actually make it to Pullman in 2013.
I believe his commit date was 6/27/2011
Thizz or die.
Yeah, it's not so much a "commit"
as it is “hey I want to go to JC and in two years come back and play for you guys”. It happens all the time, but the kids rarely make it back to the original school.

Yeah I remember reading a similiar article
regarding a recruit who couldn’t make it in a class a few years back. Said he’d be in Pullman in a couple years- obviously didn’t work out that way.
Heck, I think there’s a scout article for Sam Jones talking about how he already had a school picked out when he was enrolling in the JC. Chock it all up to wishful thinking.
Thizz or die.
Yep.
I remember a guy who committed to UW out of HS, didn’t qualify, but they wanted him to go to JC and come back. He committed to WSU after the 2 years in JC. Didn’t qualify either. So … yeah. Guys who go the JC route are always interesting, and I wouldn’t count on anyone of them after 2 years.

Talking about Keante Bankhead?
I dont know if the spelling is right
@korbm13
yeah, I saw that post
but read Kyle’s reply and decided to 1)not mention it and 2) post this anyway…
I think our first committ will be tomorrow or the day after. Probably Max Browne but
possibly Robert Nkemdiche. Seriously though, who knows, my guess is sometime in the Spring after practices wrap.

Linemen linemen...
With coach Leach’s emphasis on the trenches, and not the greatest depth on the O and D line, I’d expect the same amount of linemen in the class in 2013 as 2012. Just probably a little higher quality. Expect some more great WRs too.
There is something about being a cougar.
One of the Raider fans said
that he likes to recruit a full team each year. If that’s the case, you’re probably right.

Would we know by now if Demetrius Cherry is coming?
He is a 2011 commit who never signed a LOI, so does he have to sign a LOI for 2012 like Mitchell did? I guessing he can’t count for 2011. I can’t find a lot on him. At 6’6" and 270lbs he would make a nice DE in the 3-4. I am gathering that he must not have impressed enough at the JC to be re-recruited.
Three Contra Costa College players were named to the Region III first team: wide receiver Najee Lovett, defensive lineman Demetrius Cherry and punter Kyle Tobler. Jakari Johnson (Gavilan/Castlemont) was also named to the squad as an all-purpose player.I also found Robert Jiles while I was looking for Cherry.
Other local all-state selections were linebacker Dyllon Mafi (Laney), kick returner Robert Jiles (Butte/Pittsburg) and defensive back Blair Wishom (CCSF/De La Salle).

Cherry was at an Academy last year.
So I believe this was his first year at a JC. I’m guessing he needs to get his AA to get in, so probably another season at Contra Costa before there’s any chance of him transferring in.

That is right.
If you are academically ineligible of of HS you need your AA to transfer and play, but if you qualified out of HS and played JC ball you can transfer after one year. Does anyone know if Shelton got his AA? I believe he was a qualifier out if HS because he went to CSUF, that is why he has 3 yrs to play.

I believe you are correct re: Shelton.
Not sure, though, as he redshirted, and could have gotten his AA with transferred credits from CSUF.
