Missed this yesterday, but this is what WSU rode down to Portland in.

It's kind of ridiculous this plane ever ends up in Pullman.
I mean I have no idea how to run an airline, but I’d think avoiding something like that would be fairly easy… They probably don’t care.

As far as I know, it's a pain
They have 114 737s (although they don’t fly to Pullman) and another 48 Bombardier Q400s (which fly into Pullman). The plane’s all generally get different assignments each day and sometimes it just happens the Husky one flies into Pullman. It can be done but it’s just easier to give the plane an assignment and if that’s where it takes it, so be it. I’m sure I’m over simplifying and there are probably more factors that go into the decision of what plane goes where. But there are plenty of occasions you’ll see the WSU, Oregon, Oregon State plane not just in Pullman but in their rival’s city as well.
And lest we forget the tail of a U of I athletic director who refused to get on the Boise State plane at PUW.

I hear you, but...
does that mean the WSU plane should never be in Seattle? The Oregon plane?

With Alaska, it's a miracle when a plane gets anywhere on time

Woah woah woah
Dont be hatin’ on Alaska. Just because they have made some poor, and by poor I mean poor (looking at you formerly known as hec ed), sponsorship deals doesn’t make them a slow airline.

Alaska intentionally tries to keep planes of the school away from the area they are from
To give publicity to the school that is on it. I believe that was part of the agreement. Additionally, until recently, the coug plane was larger than most of the others (it was a CRJ 700 or something) and planes that size don’t fly to Pullman like the bombardiers do for the same reason 737s rarely fly to Pullman.

Crazy question but....
Does anybody have the clip from the football movie Johnny Be Good, where he comes back from USC dress in purple and gold, and his family says and I quote…“look at you dressed in purple and gold, you look rediculous!” I want to post that on my facebook.
One the best things ever was when the UW team had to get on a WSU plane after losing in double OT to the Cougs in 2008.

I remember driving to Moscow to get Taco Bell
And actually getting out of the car to watch them get on the plane and yell at them.

You are one of the best people ever
Serious. This is not sarcasm.
I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. Ugh
So are you
This is sarcasm
That doesn't seem very nice
I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. Ugh
sorry, i was kidding
that was also sarcasm.
Not only that..
but apparently Ryan Appleby had a “random” bag check before they could fly back. Go PUW employees!
Why did they fly to Portland?
Albany is right there.
Probably because it's cheaper and/or more convenient to fly into PDX.
