Sekope Kaufusi Dismissed After Marijuana Arrest

Stay connected for news and updates

For the third time this offseason, a WSU football player has been dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules.

WSU confirmed that redshirt sophomore linebacker Sekope Kaufusi has been dismissed from the team. Kaufusi was arrested Wednesday for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Christian Caple has the full details.

T.J. Poloai and C.J. Mizell were dismissed earlier this offseason. Kaufusi played in 22 games in his WSU career starting the majority of last season. His departure, coupled with the loss of Mizell and the graduation of Alex Hoffman-Ellis leaves WSU thin in experienced linebackers.
