So, basically, I am looking into trying my own tailgate this year for the UNLV since I'm a local. I've seen some people tailgate before, but I've never actually visited one, so what are some things I should consider? My friend here has never been to a tailgate, nor a football game since high school, so she's getting pretty excited. She's a chef, so once I told her food was involved, she gave 7 different menu choices ranging from steak with a cherry gastrique to--my choice of--jerk chicken on flatbread....
Looking at the parking situation, it seems that there is a free dirt lot that opens up 4hrs prior to the game. My main concern so far is the weather. We've been dying the past few days in 110+ degree heat and not getting under 90 til close to midnight and the east side of town is even hotter... Hopefully it will be a (MUCH) cooler day for the game or the tailgate will be miserable..
Long story short, is there any etiquette to tailgating that I should be aware of? Do people generally bring enough food for strangers? And.... is anyone else going to this game? :P
I really can't wait for football to start! GO COUGS!
