Pac-12 Tournament scores: Utah rallies to knock off Cal in OT, 79-69

Jarred DuBois hits an improbable three-pointer to tie it in regulation, and the Runnin' Utes pull away from the Golden Bears in overtime.

Could Utah be this year's Colorado? The No. 10 seed Runnin' Utes are making a bid to be the Pac-12's second consecutive surprise entry into the NCAA tournament as they won their fourth consecutive game -- and second in Las Vegas -- to advance to the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals after beating No. 2 seed California in overtime, 79-69.

The overtime period was set up by an incredibly difficult three-pointer by Jarred DuBois, who drained a high-arcing shot with 6-foot-9 David Kravish right in his face.

The Runnin' Utes -- offensively challenged all season -- went on to outscore the Golden Bears 20-10 in the extra five-minute period, belying the tight, low-scoring affair this game was early.

The teams were tied at 36 early in the second half before Cal opened up an eight-point lead as the Utes failed to score even a point for more than seven minutes. But Utah started making a few buckets, and once again chipped away to take the lead with 6:47 remaining on a Jordan Loveridge three.

But again, Cal would stretch it out to a couple of possession lead, setting up the late-game heroics.

DuBois finished with 21 points on 8 of 13 shooting, while Loveridge finished with 20 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Jason Washburn, who clearly doesn't want his career to end, had 18 points, including a big put back late in regulation that set the stage for DuBois. Utah committed just nine turnovers all night.

Justin Cobbs led Cal with 26 points, while Allen Crabbe finished with 21.

Utah advances to face the winner of Oregon and Washington in the tournament semifinals at 8:30 PDT on Friday on ESPN.
