Paulo Lepua is the latest player to join Washington State as he faxed in his letter of intent on Wednesday.
Paulo Lepua, a consensus 3-star recruit and the No. 905 overall recruit in the class of 2013 according to 247, has faxed in his letter of intent to Washington State on National Signing Day 2013.
Lepua, a defensive end who played at Nathaniel Narbonne High School in Harbor City, California, chose the Cougars over a number of other Pac-12 offers. In addition to Washington State, Lepua also considered Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Oregon State.
While he received a number of offers from Pac-12 schools, Lepua committed to Washington State prior to visiting the campus. He committed on December 23, but did not visit WSU's campus until January 18. Lepua proved to be an excellent pass rusher during his high school days, including his senior season when he racked up 26 sacks. That pass rushing ability will be a big boost for Washington State who will be looking to replace their leading sacker from last season.
Lepua is ranked as the 41st-highest defensive end recruit according to Scout. He is one of WSU's highest ranked recruits in the 2013 signing class and the highest among any of the defenders. At 6'3 and 265 pounds, Lepua projects to play defensive end in WSU's 3-4 defensive scheme.
