2013 Pac-12 Tournament bracket and TV schedule: WSU faces UW to end first day

Stephen Dunn

WSU will have to win two-thirds of a Mythical Northwest Championship on the way to an improbable tournament run.

Washington State faces rival Washington to cap the first day of the Pac-12 Tournament on Wednesday. WSU and UW will face off for the third time this season at 8:30 p.m. PT in Las Vegas. This will be the third time the two schools have faced each other in the conference tournament since it returned in 2004. The Cougars took the 2007 matchup, with Washington overcoming 43 points from Klay Thompson to win in 2011.

The winner faces Oregon in the second round, who earned a bye with a third-place regular-season finish. Joining them with automatic berths to the quarterfinals are No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Cal, and No. 4 Arizona. Should WSU get by UW, it would face the Ducks at 8:30 p.m. Thursday on ESPNU.

The event gets started with Stanford and Arizona State at Noon on Wednesday. Colorado and Oregon State follow, with USC and Utah preceding the Cougars and Huskies. All of the first round action will take place on the Pac-12 Networks.
