First and foremost, I LOVE the new press box and suites. As has been mentioned before, it truly gave Martin Stadium a more "PAC-12" look. With the construction of the new football operations building, the performance of the football team should vastly improve in future seasons, and thus, improve the game day atmosphere with in the stadium. I do, however, have three MAJOR gripes with the football operations building.
Section 1 and 2 and bottom right of the above photo.
First of all, I hate Hate HATE how the stands do not curve symmetrically with the field (as they do on ALL corners of the stadium). I truly feel that Bill Moos is missing a golden opportunity to fix the TUMOROUS GROWTH of the southwest grand stands.
Secondly, they are trying to fit a new Coug tunnel for the football team to enter the field from. I admit that I understand that they are trying to create something unique and "cool" about Martin Stadium, but come on…. there is not enough room!
Lastly, with the reconstruction of the west endzone stands, I question if fans sitting in the old lower bowl section of the northwest/southwest stands will be able to see the action in the west endzone. In layman’s terms, if you sit near the tunnels (new and old), will the new west endzone seats block your view?
Am I the only one who notices this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!
