This has been the season of the GIF here on CougCenter. I have a new setup that makes it really easy to find a play and make it into a cool little file with a bunch of fast moving frames. GIFs are an awesome little tool to capture a moment and help it live forever and, because Saturday's win was so huge, we captured a bunch of little moments.
These are moments either I or the other authors saw while watching live or they were suggested by people via Twitter during the game. So, here they are, in chronological order:
We start with the first big play of the game, in the 2nd quarter, Darryl Monroe lays some wood.
Not wanting to be outdone Deone Bucannon comes in a couple plays later and does what Deone Bucannon does best.
In the only Cougar touchdown of the game, the Pac-12 defensive player of the week comes up big. We'll see more from him later.
When you watch the GIF above you may have noticed the USC QB getting absolutely destroyed. Fox noticed too and and decided to show the aftermath with a dramatic, twisting, overhead crane shot, ala Shawshank Redemption.
In this shot, Daquawn Brown shows off his best Dikembe Mutombo
USC was about to take the lead... That was until Toni Pole had something to say about it.
This is Cyrus Coen. In the future, USC, it's probably a good idea to block people coming after your QB.
USC hadn't lost to WSU since 2002 yet, they were playing horribly and were tied with them in the 3rd quarter. That didn't make this sunburned/previously crying USC fan happy at all.
This Dom Williams play is one I pulled for a future Mark Sandritter story, but I liked so much, I'm going to use it before he gets the chance to. Sorry Mark! (Be sure to stay tuned for his story, he'll break it down better than I ever could)
That play directly led into this one. Andrew Furney shows why he is so G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S.
The Pac-12 defensive player of the week checks in once more to seal this one..
...and he's rewarding by not having to walk back into the locker room after the game.
Well, there you have it. All the GIFs from the first victory of the season. If you rewatch the game and see something you want in GIF form, let me know and I'll see if I can pull it for you.
Also, as a special bonus, here's a preview of the team we'll be facing in two weeks. Ladies and gentlemen: The 2013 Idaho Vandals:
