Running back Squally Canada faxed in a signed Letter of Intent on Wednesday, making him an official member of WSU's 2014 signing class.

The 6-foot, 185-pound prospect is a consensus 3-star recruit according to 247Sports' composite rating. He committed to WSU in December over reported offers from Oregon State, Boise State and Colorado, among others. The WSU coaching staff must have thought highly of Canada as they stopped recruiting the position after he committed. He's the only true running back in the 2014 class with others projected to shift from the backfield to inside receiver.

Canada is a very intriguing prospect. He may not have a single elite trait, but is very good across the board. He's a physical runner, but with the agility to make impressive cuts and force missed tackles in traffic. He isn't likely to be the fastest guy on the roster, but he doesn't lack top-end speed either. He racked up more than 1,900 yards as a senior, drawing comparisons to fellow Bay Area running back Marshawn Lynch. That is obviously a lofty comparison, but it give some indication of how impressive Canada was as a senior.

WSU splits the bulk of playing time between two players, with the rotation rarely expanding beyond three backs. With Marcus Mason, Teondray Caldwell and others returning, it's hard to imagine Canada breaking into the rotation next season. Instead, he'll likely redshirt and compete for playing time in 2015.

You can check out over four minutes of his senior highlights on his Hudl page.
