Linebacker Frank Luvu of Tafuna High School in Pago Pago, American Samoa officially became part of the 2014 WSU recruiting class by faxing in his letter of intent on Signing Day. Luvu committed to the program in August and did not waver, despite Scout reporting that he received offers from Colorado, Oklahoma State and Oregon State.

Luvu was a relative unknown when he committed -- just 247 Sports had evaluated him. Since then, he has received 3-star grades from Scout and ESPN to add to an 88 overall rating from 247. Rivals did not evaluate the Samoan linebacker.

Relative to others in his position group, 247 Sports' composite rankings put Luvu as the 90th-best outside linebacker in the 2014 class. That is with 247 ranking Luvu No. 48 at his position, Scout pegging him at No. 70 and ESPN slotting him at No. 103.

With reported measurements at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Luvu already has the size to play linebacker at WSU. A redshirt year's worth of time in the weight room and on the practice field could have him in good shape to challenge for a spot in the 2-deep in 2015.

Check out Luvu highlight packages on his Vimeo and his Hudl page.
