Hameed, a consensus 3-star cornerback prospect, committed to the Cougs in January from Alameda High School in Alameda, Calif. Hameed drew offers from Arizona State, Cal and UNLV among others. Despite not playing his Junior year and only seven games as a Senior, Hameed was still ranked the #88 cornerback prospect on 247Sports and #113 on Scout. Rivals has him unranked.
Hameed will likely redshirt in the 2014 season, but will have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot as WSU graduated most of its secondary last season. He is one of several secondary additions in this class with some roster clarity likely coming in fall camp.
