The long, winding road that was Marcus Griffin's recruitment finally came to an end on Wednesday with the 4-star defensive tackle from Bellevue committing to Arizona. Griffin was initially a WSU commit, but decommitted in November.
Griffin was one of the first players to commit to WSU in the 2014 class, making his verbal commitment in late April. He continued to see heavy interest, receiving a number of offers after verbally committing. While he said he was still committed to the Cougars, he also said he was interested in other schools. He then officially opened things up in November.
Although he opened things up, WSU continued to recruit him and remained in his list of top schools. He took several trips, including official visits to California, Arizona and Mississippi State. While he named WSU in his final four, not many of the recruiting experts expected him to land in Pullman. They proved to be right with him instead opting to sign with the Wildcats.
With Griffin out of the picture, Ngalu Tapa and Jalen Canty are the only defensive line prospects expected to sign with WSU in the 2014 class.
