A season ago, the Washington State Cougars went down to Los Angeles and came away with what may have been their defining win of 2015, coming from behind late to snatch a victory on a Gabe Marks touchdown. That was one of many games where WSU found itself in a difficult situation late, only to bounce back and win.
Nearly a year later, WSU hosts UCLA not looking for an upset, but now finding itself as the favorite. That’s after three-straight convincing wins, topped off with a 42-16 spanking of the Stanford Cardinal last Saturday night. That win has given the Cougs new life, and a new set of expectations after an 0-2 start set the bar very low.
UCLA is no stranger to high expectations. UCLA is also no stranger to falling short of those expectations. After falling to Arizona State last week, the Bruins are 1-2 and will possibly without quarterback Josh Rosen in Pullman on Saturday.
Weather could be a mitigating factor, with high winds and plenty of rain in the forecast.
