The Washington State Cougars host the Washington Huskies for the 2012 Apple Cup on Friday, as WSU looks to salvage something from the season with a win over their rivals. The Huskies are gunning for their eighth win of the year, while the Cougs are still looking fro their first Pac-12 win.
UW head coach Steve Sarkisian will be looking to continue his progression, as he was went from five to six to seven wins in each of his first three regular seasons as a head coach. He brings a strong defense to the Palouse, and an offense that is starting to come around.
WSU and head coach Mike Leach have went through a nightmarish season. They are riding an eight-game losing streak that was marked by the team's best offensive player leaving and the team's best defensive player suffering a knee injury.
The Huskies are heavy favorites, but the Cougs have come into this game as underdogs and won before. Washington State wil need to play at its best to come away with a win.
