Apple Cup 2012 is upon us. One last chance for WSU to get a Pac-12 win in Mike Leach's first season. One last chance for Cougar football to give its fans a good feeling after a football game (I'm saying we are 0-11 there, because I certainly did not feel good after Eastern Washington and UNLV). This is all for pride. A year of bragging. Ending a three-game losing streak in the series.
For the Huskies, they can improve their bowl status. Sarkisian can set a new career high in wins.
There has been just one Apple Cup in the last 10 years that wasn't competitive. That was 2009 when WSU barely had a team to field. Even last year was close at halftime before UW pulled away. So, even though the Cougs have been pretty punchless as of late, this could very well be a close game.
