CougCenter responsibilities include: Writing, with an emphasis on breaking down football schemes and finding interesting ways to look at data.

Born and raised in the Tri-Cities, Wash., I'm a current graduate student in environmental science at WSU Tri-Cities and researcher at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

A former high school quarterback, I like to bring the knowledge and insight I gained while playing the position and studying the game to my writing. I also apply techniques in data analysis I've learned professionally when the situation calls for it.

Mike Leach and "balance" in the Air Raid

What does balance in the Air Raid look like?

You can help QB commit Peyton Bender

Tweet "@Elite11 #PressureChamber Peyton Bender" to vote for him to be in their final competition of the day, a grueling 2min drill. Players can move on from this super regional to the finals in Oregon, and Peyton has a very good shot to do that. Every vote counts!

Fun with data: We are bizarro Georgia Tech

Just how dependent on the pass was 2012 WSU? Very. So how uncommon was WSU's reliance on the pass? Very.

Mike Leach + Jim Mastro = Air Pistol?

The mad scientist is at it again: Running backs coach Jim Mastro and head coach Mike Leach might be incorporating some Pistol in the Air Raid.

The Appendix: Air Raid links galore

We conclude our series with some thoughts on what we hoped to accomplish, and include what amounts to the appendix - a dump of every link that went into the making of the Air Raid Playbook series.

Play diagram: Four Verts

Understanding the mother of all Air Raid plays.

Play diagram: Shakes, Stick, and Corners

Here are a trio of route concepts that can work with previously presented plays.

Play diagram: Y-Cross

When the Air Raid wants a big play, it usually goes to Four Verts. But Y-Cross is pretty good in that regard, too.

Play diagram: Y-Sail

A flood concept that exemplifies how Mike Leach uses triangles to force the defense into making a mistake.

Play diagram: The Shallow Cross

That one play where Dominique Williams is wide open forever.
