Sporcle Quiz Wednesday

14

Note: Mark & I are taking suggestions for future quizzes. We've been working on a couple that one member suggested. It's a bit tougher than we first thought, but it's comin'. If you have any ideas, e-mail me, I'll pass it along to Mark, and we'll figure it out from there. Good luck!

Possibility of going from 85 to 80 scholarships

8

This week is the American Football Coaches Association Convention. Going from 85 to 80 scholarships would be a great thing for Cougar football and any other school who is in the bottom half of recruiting each year. I don't know the likeliness that this would happen, but it's interesting that coaches are discussing it.

Potential recruits for Leach and WSU per Scout

4

9 players visiting this weekend per scout.com 7 of whom list other BCS offers on their pages. Pretty impressive Mr. Leach. This doesn't include Kenny Lawler who now lists us in his top 3. This would be a mighty fine way to finish up a recruiting class, I am personally crossing my fingers for Eldrenkamp from Bellevue choosing the Crimson and Gray.

Message Boards, Social Media, and Recruiting from the TNT

20

Interesting article from the Tacoma News Tribune about a few in-state recruits and fan's reactions to these players picking out-of-state schools. Pretty sad how low people can go, aided by largely anonymous internet message boards and social media. EDIT NUSS: Good discussion here. Join in if you wish.

SMU commit considering Cougs

14

Speedy Athlete/RB Robert Lewis is committed to SMU, but said he'll visit wazzu, likely on jan. 13th with alot of other recruits. He runs a 4.5 40 yard dash and is around 5'10", which looks like good size and speed for a running back, but could be a WR/CB as well.
