Including: -- A WSU source who says he's "the right guy for us" who is "a great fit here." -- Xavier Thames' personal spokesman, er, dad, not exactly giving a ringing endorsement for the hire. -- Sterk saying he thinks there is a good chance of assistants being retained.

Washington State University has offered its men’s basketball coaching position to Portland State’s Ken Bone and is waiting for his decision, The Spokesman-Review has learned. Sources close to the situation said Bone, 50, has been the focus of the week-long search to replace Tony Bennett, who left after three years as WSU coach to take the same position at the University of Virginia.

— So says Grippi. It would be a major upset at this point if Bone didn't take the job -- unlike a lot of other schools (looking at you, Arizona) this kind of stuff doesn't generally leak out of the WSU camp unless it's pretty close to a done deal. Cross your fingers.
