The Cougars will be without their second-best scorer when they play Texas A&M on Tuesday, and it may be longer.
Washington State shooting guard DaVonte Lacy suffered an apparent knee injury in the team's CBE Hall of Fame Classic game against the Kansas Jayhawks on Monday night. Lacy will likely be out for the team's next game and may be out for longer. He will be re-evaluated when the team returns to Pullman, according to the ESPN2 television broadcast.
Lacy took just one shot against Kansas in the blowout loss. He came into the game as one of WSU's most efficient offensive players. Through three games, the sophomore put up a 131.2 offensive rating, 61.4 effective field goal percentage, 21.6 assist rate, and only an 11.6 turnover rate.
For a team that struggled mightily on offense against Pepperdine, then again against the Jayhawks, losing Lacy could be a huge blow. He's the team's best outside shooter, and one of the few guys that can be consistently counted on to hit an open jumper.
