An obvious reason why WSU will beat Oregon

Connor Halliday laughing at Oregon fans who think the Ducks will win ... probably - James Snook-USA TODAY Sports

Points per game, yards per game, it's all irrelevant. Here is the only stat you need to know and the reason why WSU will knock off Oregon.

We're still a few days from WSU taking on Oregon, but I keep reading about how the game is a forgone conclusion. WSU is a 40-point underdog, blah, blah blah. What these people don't know is the Cougars are obviously going to win this game and I have statistical proof to back up that claim.

You have to look no further than a simple viewers guide, where you will notice Saturday's game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1. WSU has never lost a game broadcast on Fox Sports 1 in the history of the network. WSU @ No. 25 USC on Fox Sports 1 ... WSU victory. WSU @ Cal on Fox Sports 1 ... WSU blowout victory. WSU @ No. 2 Oregon on Fox Sports 1 ... I think you see the trend, obvious WSU victory.

Now, you may argue that Oregon is also undefeated in the history of Fox Sports 1. This is true, but the Ducks are winless in games broadcast on Fox Sports 1 with a kickoff later than 7 p.m. WSU is undefeated under those circumstances. Saturday's game kicks off at 7:30 7 p.m. Game, set, match for the Cougs.

Seriously though, can ESPN please stop broadcasting WSU's games?

Pac-12 Second-Half Predictions and Midseason Review | AthlonSports.com
At the midpoint of the Pac-12 season, it has been Oregon and whichever team wants to try and lineup for second place. No team has scored more, allowed less and is better in turnover margin. That said, Oregon State’s Sean Mannion is the nation’s leading passer (418.5 YPG), teammates Brandin Cooks (157.3 YPG) and Steven Nelson (5) lead the nation in receiving and interceptions, Washington’s Bishop Sankey is the nation’s best rusher (149.8 YPG), Arizona State’s Marion Grice leads the nation in scoring (90), Colorado’s Chidera Uzo-Diribe is tops in the nation in forced fumbles (4), and Utah walk-on Andy Phillips has the nation’s most field goals — a perfect 11-for-11.

Midseason report: Washington State Cougars - ESPN
There was evidence of it in a season-opening 31-24 loss at Auburn and further proof the next week when the Cougars notched their first win over a ranked opponent since 2006 with a 10-7 win at then-No. 22 USC. And after adding blowout wins against Southern Utah, Idaho and Cal, it became even more clear that Mike Leach has the program on the rise.

Pac-12 buys into late-night games, for better or worse
