One of WSU’s earliest commits to the 2018 class, linebacker/defensive end Tyree Wilson, has decided to decommit from the Cougars in order to “enjoy the recruiting process.”

The three-star recruit out of New London, Texas, committed back on March 29, presumably sight unseen. Commitments that come that early are always to be taken with a bit of a grain of salt, as different players have different reasons for pulling the trigger so soon. You might remember quarterback Ian Book committing early in the 2016 class only to flip to Notre Dame, and you might remember Isaiah Hodgins and Cyrus Habibi-Likio committing shortly after last year’s spring game, only to end up at Oregon State and Oregon, respectively.
Wilson reportedly holds offers from Oklahoma State, Kansas, Houston and slew of midmajors across the southwest. There’s no reason to think the door is closed on him ending up in Pullman, but the reality also is that players who decommit from a school rarely end up with the school to which they first committed.
With that, WSU is back down to five players committed in the 2018 class, led by quarterback Cammon Cooper. Rivals recently joined Scout in rating him as a 4-star prospect. He’s participating in the Elite 11 Finals, which is a showcase for the best quarterback talent in the 2018 class.
You can find live updates of Cooper’s performance here, via SB Nation’s Bud Elliott. Here’s his first check in:
Utah QB Cammon Cooper, a Washington State commit, is a perfect fit for that offense. He doesn't have the biggest arm, but is quick and compact with his delivery. His delivery reminds me some of former Boise State QB Kellen Moore.
And before we get to the links, here’s how the recruiting class now stands:

I kid you not, I can’t find anything new. If you find something, put it in the comments and I’ll add it.
Best Beer I Had This Week
So, my local amazing taproom, Rainier Growlers, has started filling crowlers.
Uh oh. RIP, Jeff.
I didn’t technically have this beer this week, as I got the crowler filled before going boating out on Lake Washington last weekend with some of my favorite Cougs, but let me tell you: Block 15’s Hop Zest was pretty great on an 80-degree day.
Don't ever move to Seattle. It always rains here. And definitely don't get a boat. pic.twitter.com/jbz0CkqDLY
