Connor Halliday had a rough start against Oregon State, and Mike Leach has made a move.
Washington State senior quarterback Jeff Tuel has entered at quarterback in WSU's game against the Oregon State Beavers in the second quarter. Starter Connor Halliday struggled in the first half as WSU's defense played well.
Halliday went 8/18 for 71 yards and and two interceptions. He was pulled after the second pick, a bad throw into triple coverage. The pick resulted in a field goal for Oregon State to put them up 6-3.
The offense had trouble getting going with Hallida, as a 49-yard pass to Gino Simone was the only big play. That put the Cougs in the red zone, but they ended up kicking a field goal.
Tuel entered the game and immediately connected on a 51-yard pass with wide receiver Marquess Wilson. Tuel is now 2/3 for 49 yards after completing a pass behind the line of scrimmage to Teondray Caldwell. The drive would stall after a false start penalty and would end on a botched field goal attempt.
