I've always wanted to do Power Rankings for a WSU blog. Now that we're here on SB Nation, I feel like we can take it to a whole 'nother level
I want the Power Rankings here to be different. Special. But how can I arrogantly convey the idea that our rankings are better than all the others out there?
The name.
Whenever you add 'super' to anything, you make it clear you are doing something superior.
Hero? Not good enough. That's why Batman is a superhero.
Sonic? Lame. SuperSonic? Now that's a name people can cheer for over four decades before it gets stolen by an out-of-control league commissioner and his best buddy.
Nintendo entertainment system? Obsolete. Super Nintendo? The work of God himself.
I could go on, but then I'd be burying the actual rankings under a series of short paragraphs. So, without further ado, I give you the Week One Pac-10 Super Power rankings.
How it's done: The Pac-10 Super Power rankings are a fusion of my own rankings and those of co-blogger Jeff Nusser. As always, feel free to chime in with your own thoughts, rankings, etc. in the comments:

Still not convinced they're this good, because I'm convinced the Big Ten is that bad. We'll know more on Saturday. -Nuss |
