Kickoff: 3:30 PT
Location: Martin Stadium, Pullman
TV: Fox Sports Northwest (Gess who's announcing?)
The line: California by 13 1/2
Why the Golden Bears might win: Jahvid Best (above). He was the 2007 California high school state champion in the 100-meter dash. His time: 10.31 seconds. So it's safe to say he's fast. There's also the 7.6 yards per carry he averaged on his 29 carries last season.
Why the Cougars might win: Nuss said it best earlier in the week. One of the pleasant surprises last week was how the Cougar defensive line handled one of the best o-lines we will see all season in Oklahoma State. Now, with a (hopefully) monster game against Cal, they can stop the Bears' running game or at the very least prevent the floodgates from opening.
X-Factor: The D-Line. Not only for the ability to slow the run game, but also the chance that we could force Cal to beat themselves. Pressure on the quarterback, if we can get it, could lead to sacks, interceptions and a whole bunch of other fun things. Let's hope for the best.
The Prediction: I don't think the Cougs have enough offense to keep up with Cal. I do, however, think they can keep it reasonably close. Cal 31, WSU 21.
