WSU football kicks off in ...

... about 12 hours. Can you tell I'm excited?

If you live in the Pacific Northwest and you just happen to be indoors on this dreary August night -- seriously, does it have to be just 100 or 60? Can't it be 82? -- here's a little bit of reading in advance of training camp kicking off tomorrow.

  • First, this story's been out for a couple of days, but if you haven't read it yet, you simply must read Bud Withers' piece on Cory Mackay. It's required reading for any Coug. I firmly believe that guy is going to make it back onto a football field before this is all said and done.
  • Vince Grippi compiles the ramblings of Paul Wulff from his pre-camp media session.

(By the way, at the bottom Grippi talks about the incoming recruits who won't be with the team this fall. If you want the reason why we tend not to get super worked up about every football recruit signing, let alone verbals commitments around here ... well, there's your answer.)
  • If you prefer the more refined version, here are Grippi's unedited stories for tomorrow's paper.
  • Ted Miller has his best and worst case scenarios for WSU. I'm guessing it will be somewhere in the middle. But I guess that's why they're called best and worst case, right?
