Some quick news, via Vince Grippi, and it isn't good at all.
That productivity could take a big hit tonight with the news DeAngelo Casto won't play tonight with a sprained foot suffered in practice Wednesday. The 6-foot-8 junior has been the Cougars main threat inside thus far, and his 9.3 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game will be missed
No estimate on how long Casto is out, but WSU is going to need some production from Brock Motum and Charlie Enquist. On the plus side, Steven Bjornstad was finally cleared to play. In the long-term, it adds depth. In the short term, he may make an appearance tonight.
The game represents a homecoming, of sorts, for Reggie Moore. The sophomore point guard originally signed with Fresno State before heading to prep school and ending up in Pullman. Moore, as you know by now, is still out with an injured wrist.
Fresno State just isn't that good at all. I'd be more worried, and the worry meter went up with news of Casto's injury, but looking at the Bulldogs' team page doesn't strike fear in my heart. They don't defend well, their offense is borderline inept, but they can block shots.
If nothing else, this team is being tested in the worst way early in the season. Time to see how the Cougs respond tonight.
Game time is 7 p.m. but there is no TV. It's all Bud Nameck, all the time tonight.
