Baseball headed to Arkansas, and other assorted links

In case you missed it in the thread below, what we all knew was coming was made official this morning when the baseball team was selected to its second consecutive NCAA Tournament. The Cougs are the No. 2 seed in the four-team regional at Fayetteville, Ark., joining No. 1 Arkansas, No. 3 Kansas State and No. 4 Grambling State.

We'll have some brief analysis of the regional later today, then get into deeper analysis as the week goes on. For now, we wanted to pass along the story from the WSU athletic department which has some instant reaction quotes.

So far, so good, for Anderson in his quest to win a third consecutive NCAA title. This season might provide his toughest challenge yet, though -- South Carolina's Johnny Dutch ran a regional time that was a full half-second faster than Anderson's mark that had led the nation up until now. Should be fun.

A freshman advances. Cool.
