WSU vs. Arizona State Recap: Charts, Awards

Klay Thompson Player of the Game Award (tie): DeAngelo Casto, Klay Thompson. Yes, Casto hit a career high with 25 points, in addition to another four blocks on the defensive end. But he has to share the award with Klay, who came dangerously close to a triple double. Klay tore apart the Sun Devil defense for 22 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds. Oh, and he also added 3 steals and 2 blocks. Klay Thompson, Reggie Moore and the winner of the next award did a lot of the setting up; Casto did the following through.

Right Hand Man: Marcus Capers. 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and a block. At this point I think Marcus Capers deserves a nomination for most underrated player in the country.

Unsung Hero: Reggie Moore. Moore's stat line looks quiet relative to the other starters: 11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists on 4 of 10 shooting. The most impressive thing was the lone turnover. Reggie's shot selection may not have been the best tonight, but his distributing is just as good as it always is.

Play of the Game: Had to be Marcus Capers' left handed flush off a Klay Thompson steal in the first half that nearly brought down the house.

It was over when... Klay hit a three to make it 71-51 with 6:30 to play.

Stat of the Game: Not a single WSU player shot below 40%. Since I already used that in the last post, I'll give you a bonus: WSU held ASU to 31 percent shooting... inside the arc.
