HOT COUGAR ACTION: Basketball Recaps And Mike Leach

Another Cougar Hardwood Classic, another win for WSU. The Cougars defeated Pepperdine 67-56 in front of a crowd of 9,831. This was the final non-conference game for WSU who will now move onto Pac-12 play starting with the Oregon schools next week.

But the night was more than basketball, WSU spotlighted Greg Rankich for his generous donation and Mike Leach received one heck of an introduction which included a smoke machine, yes a smoke machine. Leach didn't say much, but it was another cool moment in what is becoming a string of awesome moments when Leach shows up. I believe Nuss was able to get video of Leach at halftime and we will pass along a link when it's ready.

Leach spoke to the media briefly, saying among other things, he has not hired a defensive coordinator yet. Leach did confirm seven coaches have been hired. For more on those seven coaches, you can probably find something on the Internet somewhere.
