Paul Wulff said he planned to add a few more players to the WSU class of 2011 at his press conference recapping signing day, and on Wednesday, he added another. Niko Aumua, a 6-foot-6, 230 pound defensive end from Contra Costa College, signed a Letter of Intent with WSU, bringing the total number of signees in the class to 27.
Aumua appears to be a versatile athlete, playing on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball in high school and his first year at Contra Costa. In high school, Aumua was a first-team all-league selection at wide receiver in both his junior and senior years, while adding first-team honors as an outside linebacker in his senior year, as well. In his sophomore year at Contra Costa, Aumua was a first-team All-Bay Valley Conference selection while also earning the conference's defensive MVP award.
More information can be found in the team's press release.
