Thanks, Soldiers And Veterans

Happy Memorial Day to all of you. I hope you're enjoying the day off, but I also hope you're reflecting on what the day means.

I don't know a lot of soldiers, but I do know one very well. Thanks, Jo-Jo. I appreciate you. And thank you to all of our readers who are either active or veterans who I don't know. I appreciate you, too.

In other WSU news this weekend ...

Cougars Finish 12th at NCAA Rowing Championships -
Washington State University finished 12th overall at the 2011 NCAA Rowing Championships Sunday at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center on Lake Natoma. The Cougars' second varsity eight and varsity four each placed 10th in their respective events, while the varsity eight was 11th. Washington State finished with 39 points, just three points behind Yale in 11th with 42. WSU bettered its 13th-place finish from last year's 2010 NCAA Championships. The Cougars place 12th for the second time in school history, as they matched the finish in 2003.

Cougar Baseball Closes Season with Win at USC -
Taylor Ard was 3-for-3 with a home run and scored five times as Washington State routed USC 13-1 in the final baseball game of the 2011 season for both teams.
