2012 Apple Cup score update: Cougars come all the way back, tie it 28-28

Washington State's comeback continues as the Cougars have tied the 2012 Apple Cup 28-28.

After trailing 28-10 going into the fourth quarter, the Cougars have scored 18 unanswered points to the the game 28-28 with 1:59 to play. WSU kicker Andrew Furney tied the game with a 45-yard field goal. After forcing a three-and-out, the Cougars took over at their own 30-yardline and drove 42 yards to setup the field goal attempt.

The big play of the drive came early as Jeff Tuel hit senior Gino Simone on a 3rd-and-6 for 18 yards and the first down. A Washington defender appeared to have a chance to intercept the pass, but Simone hauled it in for the first down and more. Simone would catch another pass on the drive for 9 yards to help setup the field goal.

Washington State has now scored on three straight possessions after it appeared Washington had blown the game open.
