HOT COUGAR ACTION: Previewing WSU Vs ASU

As I read Jeff's post on Brock Motum's POY candidacy, I started to think about how Motum is so effective. While he is skilled, it's not as if he breaks out a new move every game. He typically either spots up and shoots or drives left, yet no one can stop him. Basically, Motum is the Madden online player who know one likes to play.

From my limited experience, there are two types of online Madden players. Player A mixes up runs and passes, calling a variety of plays similar to an actual football game. Player B finds one or two successful plays and calls them every down, everyone knows what's coming yet they can't stop it. When a player A type plays a player B type, it almost always ends in a frustrated player A yelling something like, "play real football" into his headset.

Brock Motum is player B, except instead of frustrating some random guy in his living room, he embarrasses people on national TV, regional TV, online webcasts. If WSU installed a webcam that showed only the opposing coach's reaction every time Motum scores, I would probably pay for a subscription.
