HOT COUGAR ACTION: Cougar Athletic Fund Update

Yesterday, WSU Athletics released some membership updates for the Cougar Athletic Fund (CAF) and they are impressive.

At the end of 2011, the CAF had 4,084 members, that number has now grown to 5,228 members with 1,144 new members joining since the start of 2012. That 28 percent increase in membership is impressive on it's own, but it's even more impressive when you consider the 4,084 number includes members who joined in December after Mike Leach was hired.

In my limited amount of Googling, I wasn't able to find a CAF member number prior to Leach's hiring, but I think it's safe to assume there was significant growth in December. It wouldn't surprise me if the CAF has added 1,500 members since Leach's arrival which would be just shy of 50 percent growth.

This is all before Leach even steps on the practice field for the first time. Impressive stuff. You can find more information on the Cougar Athletic Fund, including how to become a member here.
