HOT COUGAR ACTION: WSU's Loss Sets Up CBI Elimination Game

When it comes to the positives of playing in the CBI, the common answer seems to be the benefit of extra practice and experience each team gains. Well, apparently WSU wanted to maximize their benefit because instead of closing out the final in two games, they instead opted to play one more.

Jeff recapped the action here and official stats can be found here. As Jeff noted in his recap, the obvious takeaway from the game was the second half play of Reggie Moore. He scored 16 points in the final 20 minutes, 14 of which were a result of drives to the rim. Pitt simply couldn't stop Moore from getting into the lane.

As we've seen in the past, when Moore attacks good things tend to happen. He's had moments this season where he's shown glimpses of the aggressiveness he displayed as a freshman, but in the second half yesterday he was relentless. If he carries that performance into the final game and next season, WSU's investment in the CBI will be worth it ten times over.
