HOT COUGAR ACTION: Basketball Regular Season Concludes Today

The Washington State men's and women's basketball teams wrap up their regular seasons today with contests against USC. The men will try rebound from whatever the heck you call that performance against UCLA while the women celebrate senior day.

While the game result may not mean a whole lot, Brock Motum will become just the third player in WSU to score 500 points and grab 200 rebounds in a season if he is able to pull down eight rebounds. Motum will get at least one more game in the Pac-12 tournament to accomplish the feat. Motum also has a shot to overtake Jared Cunningham as the Pac-12's leading scorer. Cunningham currently holds a 17 point lead over Motum. If Motum does indeed pass Cunngham, WSU will have the Pac-12's leading scorer in back-to-back seasons. That hasn't been done since Huntley Gordon led the conference in 1930-31 and again in 1931-32.

Beyond that, WSU is technically playing for eighth place today. The Cougars are currently tied with Oregon State, however, WSU holds the tiebreaker. A Cougar loss combined with an Arizona State win over Arizona tomorrow and WSU could fall into 10th place. None of that means much beyond Pac-12 tournament seeding.

The men's game tips off at 3 p.m. and can be streamed for free here. Craig is currently spring breaking in New York, but he will still be by later with a preview because that's just the kind of guy he is.
