HOT COUGAR ACTION: Cougars Kick Off Spokane Week

It's no secret the WSU athletic department is trying to increase their footprint in Spokane. A big part of that effort is the upcoming Crimson and Gray game on Saturday, but the athletic department has an entire week of Spokane events planned. To begin the week, fans gathered with players and coaches from the 2003 team to watch the 2003 Holiday Bowl.

Bill Doba, Matt Kegel and Will Derting were among the attendees. KXLY interviewed all three with Kegel here, Doba here and Derting here. There is a very cool moment at the 3:15 mark of the Derting interview when Derting sees Doba and the two hug it out. After a quick embrace, Derting calls Doba "old man" and Doba makes fun of Derting's facial hair.

If you weren't at the event and didn't get the chance to relive the 2003 Holiday Bowl you can watch the final 50 seconds and listen to the post game interviews in the video below. D.D. Acholonu's interview starting at the 6:10 mark is one of the best examples of pure joy I've ever seen.
