It is another light day on news, but that will change later today as the WSU football team will hold it's sixth practice of spring football. Brian and Christian Caple have done an excellent job of covering spring practice thus far. If you've missed any of their practice recaps you can get caught up below.
Christian: first, second, third, fourth, fifth
It's hard to take too much from five spring practices, but if I had to pick one interesting development, it would be the play of Eric Oertel. Oertel shifted back to linebacker at the start of spring and seems to make his way into every practice report. Oertel has played well enough to draw praise from defenseive coordinator Mike Breske.
"He’s very athletic," Breske said. "He’s got an aggressive streak in him, a natural blitzer, and he’s getting better each day."
Linebacker was a bit of an unknown heading into spring, Oertel as well as Darryl Monroe and others have helped lessen some of the concern following the departures of Sekope Kaufuis and C.J. Mizell.
