WSU held their second scrimmage of spring football Saturday and as is the case with any football scrimmage, both the offense and defense had their moments. It appears the defense may have had a few more moments than the offense as they racked up 12 sacks.
Christian Caple recapped the scrimmage in extensive detail in this blog post. His post also includes this awesome quote from Joe Salave'a:
"At one point, it used to be a madhouse up here. You didn’t want to come play here because it was tough, it was hard, it was cold, it was everything," Salave'a said. 'We’ve got to get our guys to understand that there is a degree of responsibility and pride in wearing the crimson and gray."
Coug999 also posted some notes from the scrimmage and they can be found here. Caple's blog post mentioned the offensive linemen spent some time after practice doing bear crawls and rolls across the field, both of which can be seen in the background of the Jeff Tuel interview below.

PULLMAN — Yes, Jeff Tuel threw for two touchdowns and nearly 300 yards. And yes, Andrei Lintz, Gino Simone, Bobby Ratliff and others on offense had big days as well. But oh, that defense. Seven defenders recorded at least one sack, and the Cougs racked up twelve, yes twelve, sacks overall. For good measure, the Cougar D grabbed four takeaways, too.

FROM PULLMAN — The defense recorded 12 sacks during WSU's scrimmage of 115 plays or so on Saturday, but the offense got its licks in, too. In other words, it was standard fare for a mid-spring scrimmage. Read on for a whole bunch of words about it.
