HOT COUGAR ACTION: Flashback Friday

New, 11 comments

While the current WSU offense draws most of the attention, it wasn't always that way. Back in the days of the Palouse Posse, it was the WSU defense leading the way. I didn't follow WSU closely during those days, so it wasn't until a random YouTube search led me to the videos below that I actually got to see how impressive that defense was.

Nearly all of the highlights feature the WSU defense and a for good measure. The line of scrimmage is obliterated on practically every play. Watching the Ducks' quarterbacks reminds me of watching Cougar quarterbacks during recent years. By just watching the roughly 15 minutes of highlights, I now understand why Mark Fields won Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year in 1994, he was everywhere. Impressive stuff.
