HOT COUGAR ACTION: Three More Cougs Selected In The MLB Draft

On day two of the MLB draft, two Washington State players were selected. Fittingly enough, three Cougars were selected on day three of the draft.

Second baseman Tommy Richards went in the 24th round, outfielder Kyle Johnson went in the 25th round and third baseman Patrick Claussen was selected in the 34th round. The three seniors join Derek Jones and Taylor Ard who were selected Tuesday.

There were no videos of the players selected Wednesday, but there was this quote from Donnie Marbut.

"This is the best draft for me since I have been at Washington State," Cougar Head Coach Donnie Marbut said. "All of these guys worked very hard to have a professional opportunity and each one of them deserves it."

The Cougars also had five players selected last year, although Jones and Ard did not sign.
